The Sacred Valley of the Incas with a pleasant climate, fertile lands and spectacular views surrounding picturesque Quechua communities. In the Sacred Valley you can see ancient agricultural terraces and important archaeological sites, such as Yucay, where the impressive terraces, which are completely intact, act as a background to the quaint village. Other examples are Pisac, the largest Fortress City Complex of the Incas; Ollantaytambo considered one of last Inca cities on the Sacred valley.
We leave Cusco around 8:30 am in direction of Pisaq, descending to the Sacred Valley traveling around 45 minutes, we will arrive at Pisaq town, where you can enjoy browsing around the traditional handicraft market of Pisaq with enough time for local souvenir shopping. Afterwards we drive up the mountain where Pisaq’s ruins are located.
Our tour guide will take you around temples, terraces, tunnels of this complex all the time enjoying the majestic view of the Sacred River Vilcanota. Then we drive among the Sacred River passing some Andean towns, where you can observe the descendants of the Quechua people wearing colourful dressings. We stop in Urubamba town for our buffet lunch of Peruvian food, then we keep going until Ollantaytambo, one of the last Inca towns. You will be amazed by this Inca town taking in the impressive temple of the Sun with its intricate stone work detail, the terraces constructed to sustain the mountain and admire the face of the Inca gods exploring this amazing complex, with its beautiful water fountains.
